Every semester we're faced, like the overburdened lad in the illustration at the top of this page, with too much to do in too little time. To add something extra seems impossible in a course already bursting.
Yet writing is fundamental to the way all of us, faculty and students alike, learn the material in any subject area. Indeed, when students can express in good writing the knowledge they've acquired, they are demonstrating their understanding of the discipline itself. Thus we--a collaborative team of English and Animal Science professors-- have created this homepage to help improve writing instruction in every discipline across UConn's broad and diverse curriculum. We hope that what we offer here will help you to teach and your students to write with ease, effectiveness, and efficiency, in and out of class.
This homepage and this project were composed with the collaborative efforts of Lynn Z. Bloom, Thomas Hoagland, Cameron Faustman, John Riesen, and Kimberly Freeman.
