The UCHI offers the possibility for self-selected groups of about 4-10 faculty members (may include a couple of doctoral candidates) to organize workshops, seminars, and study-groups. Participants will discuss readings and share their research. Each group may receive up to $1500 to pay for reading materials, refreshments and meals, and visits by regional scholars.

Those interested in organizing a workshop, seminar, or study-group should apply by submiting a two-page proposal. The following categories should be addressed in the body of the proposal.

1. Subject Area
2. Purpose of the workshop
3. Potential outcomes
4. List of participants
5. Schedule
6. Budget (items may include: copying, book purchases, travel for visiting scholars, food expenses)

The UCHI also supports scholarly conferences on campus by means of subventions up to $4000 in a single fiscal year and through administrative assistance. Projecs with longer planning periods may receive larger awards. The UCHI sponsors or co-sponsors conferences, lectures or symposia on and off campus aimed at professional or other targeted public constituencies.
