Typical Marionette Construction

This is an example of the marionette construction method used by Frank Ballard in The Magic Flute. The puppet shown is Papageno and parts of the body were cast from neoprene. Red lines indicate how and where the thin black strings were attached to the body to provide the appropriate movement.
