Welcome To Mortar Board National Honor Society at the University of Connecticut

Mission: Mortar Board, Incorporated, is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for their achievements in scholarship, leadership and service, provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community.

Membership eligibility: Students who have demonstrated service and leadership. Students must be in the top 35% of their class and have a 3.0. Students in any major are invited by letter or may apply on their own during the second semester of their junior year. Applicants will be chosen by current members.

Chapter History: Established in 1949, Mortar Board existed as the senior women's honor society through the 1970s, when the national honor society made the decision to become co-educational, UConn's Laurel's Chapter followed suit.
