Articles may be submitted
to either Roger Célestin or Eliane DalMolin, Editors, at the
journal's office:

Authors
are asked to submit two copies of their articles to facilitate
and speed the review process; they will be informed of the decision
at the earliest possible date. Submission to the journal will be evaluated
by the editors and members of the editorial advisory board; outside
specialists may be consulted as needed.
Submission
of an article will be taken to imply that it has not been published
previously in any form and has not simultaneously been offered to any
other publication. It is a condition of acceptance of an article that
the publisher acquires the copyright of the typescript. Therefore the
article cannot be published elsewhere in the same form, in any language,
without the publisher's consent.
Form & Length
All articles
shall be typed on one side of the paper only, and doubled spaced with
a wide (3cm) margin on each side of the text. Pages of each copy must
be sequentially numbered. Section heading should be entirely in capitals,
on a separate piece of paper; titles should be in small letters, with
main words capitalized. In either case, the text should start on the
next line. The maximum preferred length is twenty double-spaced pages;
there is no minimum length. Exceptionally long articles will be considered
when of particular merit, and short notices are welcome especially for
the questionnaire section.
Names, affiliations
and complete mailing addresses for authors should appear on a separate
title page. If affiliations for authors differ, list addresses separately
beneath each author's name. Indicate for the typesetter which author
will check proofs. Authors should also provide an abbreviation of the
paper's title (no more that 35 characters) for use as a running head.
Include acknowledgments under a separate head at the end of the paper
but before the Works Cited list.
The publisher
encourages authors to submit accepted manuscripts on computer disks.
Microsoft Word 6 or 97/98 is the preferred software. Authors must enclose
a printed copy of the manuscript (in duplicate) along with the disk.
All disks should be marked with the name of the software package that
was used and the file name.
Illustrations
Illustrations
should be presented as "camera-ready copy," numbered with
consecutive arabic numbers (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.), have descriptive
captions, and be mentioned in sequential order in the text. Keep illustrations
separate from the text, but indicate clearly their approximate position
within the text. Permission to reproduce illustrations and any other
material which has been previously published by the author and sent
to the editors.
Preparation:
Line drawings should be prepared in black (India) ink on white paper
or tracing cloth, with all the necessary lettering completed. Photographs
must be in good original prints of maximum contrast. Color prints or
transparencies should be submitted only if the color is necessary to
the understanding of the discussion.
Captions:
A list of captions relating to the illustrations, with relevant
numbers (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.), should be set out on a separate
sheet of paper attached to the typescript. The permission statement
provided by the copyright holder should be included at the end of each
caption.
References
The full
list of notes "Works cited" should be collected at the end
of the paper. Full bibliographical information should appear only in
the list of "Works cited," not in the notes. In general, format
should follow MLA Style Sheet guidelines, in alphabetical order,
and set out in the manner described and illustrated below. Note that
the initials of the first author (only) are placed after the name.
Proofs
If necessary,
authors may receive page proofs (including illustrations) for correction,
which must be returned to the printer within 48 hours of receipt. Please
be sure that a full postal address is given on the first page of the
manuscript so that proofs will arrive without delay. Author's alterations
in excess of 10% of the original composition cost will be charged to
the authors.
Deadlines
Due to the
thematic nature of each issue of Contemporary French and Francophone
Studies, deadlines are final since late articles cannot be saved
for subsequent issues.
