Goals of Think-Tank
To build an international research group through networking and collaboration and to conduct research, share information,
and develop educational programs that promote international understanding, cooperation and community.
Description
A collaborative research think-tank group involving a community of scholars from around the world with shared interests in the social science aspects of leisure, tourism and sport (and related areas of inquiry). The group conducts original research, provides consulting services, serves as a think-tank for generating and implementing new ideas and functions as a learning resource and repository of information. The think-tank group also:
- Provides learning support services for selected master's and doctoral students
- Generates Free Reference Lists (informational databases of current research)
- Provides consulting services in management, marketing and research
- Conducts social science research in Leisure, Tourism and Sport
- Maintains World-Wide Ph.D. Program Locator Service
- Conducts market research and provides "status reports"
- Facilitates contact and interaction among international scholars and students
- Encourages and supports international programs of study in England, Greece and Cyprus, among others
- Encourages and supports cross-cultural projects/research and collaboration
- Facilitates interaction and exchange among scholars through a communal bulletin board (under construction)
- Helps facilitate interaction with the media and the public and private sectors through an Experts List (under construction)
