Mini-Conference on

Special Themes of European History

as part of the

2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON
EUROPEAN AND INTERNATIONAL POLITICAL & ECONOMIC AFFAIRS

MAY 27-29, 2004
ATHENS, GREECE


The European Research Unit of the Athens Institute for Education and Research (AT.IN.E.R.) and the Institute of International Economic Relations (IIER) will introduce a History mini-Conference as part of the 2nd international conference on International and European Political & Economic Affairs, May 27-29, 2004.

The registration fee is $150, covering access to all sessions, 2 lunches, coffee breaks and conference material. Special arrangements will be made with local hotels for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a one-day cruise to picturesque Greek Islands will be organized.

The aim of the mini-conference is to bring together scholars and students of European historical studies. Sessions will be formed around the topics of the military and society in Europe, European Economic History, European Diplomatic History, the History of Transnational European Political Parties, and past efforts at European or regional unification.  Selected papers may be published in a Special Volume of the Mini-Conference Proceedings.

Organizational Structure

ATINER has the following organizational structure:

1. General Assembly (all members) 2. Executive Committee (5 members) 3. International Board of Advisers (20 members)

Executive Committee

The executive committee is composed of five members that are elected every three years by a secret vote. It is obligated to meet once every three months. The Executive Committee discusses and makes decisions on all issues that concern the organization. The executive committee for the 2001-2003 period was elected in May 2001 and is as follows:

The Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER) was established in October 1995 as a non-profit, non-government, non- partisan organization to promote education and research in applied fields
