Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction is a program in which a successful former student runs several weekly review sessions designed for all students who want to improve their understanding of course material. It is effective for all levels of students, from those who want to get an A to those who simply want to improve their chances of passing the course.
The SI leader attends all lectures, does the assigned reading, and prepares review sessions that focus on some of the most important material. This is student-to-student learning, so you will get a different slant on the material than the instructor provides.
- SI Targets challenging classes, not bad students.
- Go to SI and you'll study less, and do better.
- Learn actively in a small environment.
- Come to SI to find out what you don't know.
- SI is not a repeat of the lecture.
- You will learn concepts by practicing with peers.
- SI really works!!!!!
Your SI leader this semester is Melanie Ktorides. She will run two SI sessions each week, as follows:
Day: Mon & Wed Time: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Location: Torrey Life Sciences 153 (across the hall from lecture room)
