Comprehensive Exam in Cognition & Instruction >> Syllabus Response

Exam Requirement

Scenario: You are an assistant professor at Blue Sky State University, and you have been assigned by your Dean, Dr. Schwab, the task of designing a new 3-credit course on Instructional Design for Masters students in two programs: Educational Technology and Cognition & Instruction. You can assume that these students have had two introductory psychology courses and a graduate course in learning.

Present Dean Schwab with the following:

  • A syllabus for a 3 credit, 15-week course in Instructional Design that meets twice per week for 90 minutes each class.
  • Instructional objectives for the course.
  • Textbook(s) selected and rationale for your choice.
  • Five selected readings beyond the textbook.
  • Your assessment procedures for assigning student grades.
  • A set of PowerPoint slides for one of your lectures as a sample (60 minutes). The topic is to be Motivation.
