Welcome to my Competency Analysis Report and Electronic Portfolio. This web site will provide you with some insight into the competencies I have acquired and the products I have produced over the last three years in the Instructional Systems Open & Distance Learning (ODL) Program at Florida State University (FSU).

Purpose & Contents:

This online document is an opportunity for me to reflect upon the competencies I have acquired as a student in the Instructional Systems ODL masters program. It is also an opportunity for me to showcase a portfolio of the products I have produced while in the program.

More specifically, this web site includes two components:

1. A Competency Analysis Report in which I discuss the skills I have (and have not) acquired while I have been a student in the Instructional Systems ODL masters degree program. The Competency Analysis Report is broken down into six competency areas: Analysis, Design, Implementing Media and Technology, Evaluation and Research, Management, and Communication.

2. An Electronic Portfolio which includes 22 products that serve as a demonstration of my skills. The portfolio, found on the Table of Contents page, includes products I have created in most classes and for a variety of purposes during my enrollment in the Instructional Systems ODL masters degree program.

Rating Scale:

Within the Competency Analysis Report section of this web site, I will use the following scale to rate my current level of ability for each competency area, as well as the individual competencies within each area:

Highly
Skilled
I have successfully performed the skill in several different situations and I am confident that I could do so in the context of a project for an employer.
Moderately
Skilled
I have successfully performed part or all of the skill in at least one situation.
Minimally
Skilled
I have performed part or all of the skill with limited success.
Not At All
Skilled
I have never performed this skill, or I have tried to perform it without any success.
