This year the August 2000 orientation for new international teaching assistants included six mentor TAs who attended all the workshops with the new TAs. The mentors not only led some small group discussions of the topics in the workshops, but also made themselves generally available to answer questions, calm fears, give directions or share their experiences. The new TAs found them to be a great resource and we would like to thank these mentors for their enthusiasm and willingness to help others.
